29 April 2022
Are you curious to know how the City prepares and responds to emergencies? Is your family prepared? As part of Emergency Preparedness Week from May 1-7, 2022, the City of Richmond will be offering a variety of online and in-person initiatives to help familiarize residents with the simple steps they can take to become more resilient in an emergency.
Some ways to learn during Emergency Preparedness Week include:
Visit the Richmond Emergency Programs Open House: Stop by the Richmond Emergency Programs Open House at Brighouse Fire Hall No. 1 on Saturday, May 7, from noon to 4:00 p.m.
This free event will be open to everyone and will feature interactive displays and prizes. Visitors will learn the steps to take for personal preparedness as well as how the City and partners work together for emergency preparedness, planning, response and recovery.
In addition to City of Richmond Emergency Programs, other participating partners highlighted onsite will include the Canadian Red Cross, Canadian Coast Guard, BC Ambulance Services, Canadian Armed Forces, and others.
Participate in the City’s daily social media polls: Throughout Emergency Preparedness Week, follow the City’s social media channels for daily preparedness tips, and to participate in daily polls for a chance to win a free emergency kit. Follow the City of Richmond’s accounts on Twitter (@Richmond_BC), Facebook and Instagram (@CityofRichmondBC).
