City of Richmond launches call for holiday waste reduction ideas

The holiday season is a wonderful time to celebrate with family and friends, but it can also generate a lot of unnecessary waste. Here is your chance to share ideas on how you reduce waste over the holidays and enter to win prizes.

The City of Richmond has launched the Holiday Waste Think Tank on LetsTalkRichmond.ca. From now until Monday, December 12, 2022, share the following types of ideas and comment on other’s ideas for:

• reducing the amount of gift wrap used
• minimizing food waste
  
• giving gifts that don’t involve packaging
• transforming textiles or other household items into great new gifts

Each idea submitted will be entered for the chance to win a Rethink Waste Holiday Prize Pack including reusable items. The four prize dates are Monday, November 21, November 28, December 5 and December 12.
