2019 March:
Richmond City Council declared a climate emergency in response to the urgent call set out by the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
2017:
Community Energy and Emissions Plan - 2017 Energy Action Report Update released.
2015:
Community Energy and Emissions Plan - 2015 Energy Action Report Update released.
2014:
Council adopted the original 2014 Community Energy and Emissions Plan (CEEP), which had the goal of reducing emissions by 80% by 2050.
Climate Action Leadership
The City is a leader in climate change actions. For over a decade, we have been actively implementing climate change mitigation and adaption measures (such as dikes) which will protect Richmond from current projections of climate change impacts out to 2100.
