“A highlight of my career was when I went to Sri Lanka for Habitat for Humanity. We shovelled every day from 8am to 4pm and between 18 of us we finished three houses. It’s a huge commitment, a month of your life, but very rewarding.” |
| “When I was working in Parks & Recreation, we were encouraged to volunteer in the community, and that started me on a whole new path. My volunteering is extremely important to me and community connection is extremely important at the City of Richmond. I have been the chair of Toastmasters for the past 15 years and I encourage staff to come every Wednesday at lunch hour. I love working for the City of Richmond because I love the connection to the community.” |
