Getting to the Oval
Often called the signature venue of the 2010 Winter Games, the Richmond Olympic Oval is located at 6111 River Road, Richmond, on the banks of the Fraser River just across from the Vancouver International Airport. The Oval is host of the speed skating competitions over 12 days during the Games. For more information visit the Richmond Olympic Oval website.
There is no parking at the Richmond Olympic Oval.
Gates open two hours prior to the competition start time.

Rapid Transit
Speed skating event ticket holders are encouraged to travel to the Oval via the Canada Line (using the transit passes included in tickets) and walk the 20-minute (1.5 kilometre) route along the Middle Arm Dyke Trail from Aberdeen Station. The pedestrian route is well marked and is enhanced with benches, accessible play stations and viewpoints. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather.
Fully accessible shuttle buses from Bridgeport Canada Line Station and from Richmond-Brighouse Canada Line Station to the Oval will transport those ticket holders unable to walk. Fore more information, visit www.travelsmart2010.ca.
Buses Serving the Oval
For those ticket holders originating from other parts of Richmond, the Oval is serviced by local transit, with a five-minute walk from the closest bus stop at Elmbridge Way and Hollybridge Way.
Within Richmond: take any local bus going to Richmond-Brighouse Canada Line Station and transfer to C94.
C94 shuttle to/from Richmond-Brighouse Station.
The 401 and 407 also stop at Westminster Highway and Gilbert Road, which is a 10-minute walk to/from the Oval.
From Burnaby: take bus 430 to Richmond-Brighouse Station, transfer to C94.
From North Delta/Surrey: take bus 301 to No. 3 Road/Cook, transfer to C94.
From Ladner: take bus 404 to Richmond-Brighouse Station, transfer to C94.
Travel by Bicycle
The City of Richmond is providing bike racks at the Oval for cyclists, on River Road, east and west of the venue, and within the WorkSafe BC site (6951 Westminster Highway) which can be accessed off Elmbridge Way. Be sure to wear a helmet at all times—it’s the law—and wear reflective clothing and use a light when travelling by bicycle at night.
To reach the Oval by bike from Vancouver, bike over the Canada Line, Arthur Laing, Oak Street or Knight Street Bridges.

Travel by Foot
Pedestrians should approach the Oval either via the Middle Arm Dyke Trail from the east, or from Westminster Highway to Elmbridge Way and Hollybridge Way from points west and south. The entrance gate during Games time is located on the Riverfront Plaza, along the Middle Arm Dyke, on the east side of the Oval. Accessibility
Translink will provide shuttle service for people with disabilities from the Canada Line Bridgeport Station to the Richmond Olympic Oval. Note the black line on the Translink map runs from Bridgeport Station to the site, Translink 2010 Map.
