Canada Line Rapid Transit Project
Opening Day Arrived August 17 2009
The much anticipated rapid transit line connecting Vancouver to Richmond and to the Vancouver International Airport on Richmond's Sea Island began carrying passengers in August of 2009. See Translink for schedules and maps.

The Canada Line is a rapid transit system that connect ing Vancouver with Central Richmond and the Vancouver International Airport. With a transit capacity equivalent to 10 road lanes, it serves to link the growing residential, commercial, health, educational and other centres in the region. Trains will depart every 6 minutes from Vancouver's Waterfront Station, destined for either Richmond or the airport.
With 16 stations, new parking and bus facilities, Canada Line is an important new link in the region's transportation network.

The City and Canada Line Working Together
Traffic management plans, construction management plans, public consultation and community liason and notification programs were in place and implemented throughout the construction period.
An integrated team of the partners worked hard to ensure the best possible outcome for designing, integrating, building and operating the Canada Line in Richmond.
Public Open House Information
The City of Richmond and Canada Line Rapid Transit Inc. (CLCO) both held public open houses regarding No. 3 Road and the Restoration Project. The public was encouraged to attend the open houses to learn and provide feedback.
