Fitness Centre
The 2,000 square foot Steveston Fitness Centre features 15 cardio machines, strength machines and free weights, medicine balls, stability balls, balance boards and bosu balls.

Public Holiday Hours
There’s no excuse to miss your workout!
All community centres are open regular weekend hours PLUS select community centres are now open on public holidays! This is a great chance to come in for a workout with friends and family.
Use your Total Fitness Pass at any centre on public holidays for no extra fee.
Fitness Fees
Steveston Community Centre offers a number of options for accessing fitness programs, including paying a drop-in fee or purchasing a visit card or fitness centre pass, as well as offering programs for registration. See the Fitness Fees section for more information.
Orientations and other Services
Fitness Centre Orientation
Book an introduction to the Fitness Centre with a BCRPA registered Weight Trainer and learn proper techniques for equipment use and Fitness Centre etiquette. Call 604-238-8097 to book an appointment.
Youth Orientation
Youth aged 13-17 years of age must complete a youth orientation, demonstrate appropriate maturity level and have a
parental consent form signed prior to Fitness Centre access. Youth orientations can be booked by calling the centre of your choice, and need only be completed once for eligibility to exercise at all centres.
Screening Forms
PAR-Q+ (The Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire for Everyone)
When you take part in any fitness activity at a City facility you will be asked to either complete a PAR-Q+, read the large poster version of the form, or to confirm you have completed the online version of the questionnaire. This form is designed to identify people for whom a change in physical activity may pose a risk.

Highlighted Fitness Programs
Group Cycling (Indoor)
- Power Pedal - a variety of cycling sessions including athletic and rhythmic drills, climbing hills and speed intervals.
- Rise & Ride - a 45 minute wake-up class that follows the same format as Power Pedal. Sign up in person only.
Stroller Strides
This outdoor stroller workout for moms/dads and baby is boot camp style using exercise tubing and various props for strength and flexibility.
Boot Camp
This indoor drop-in fitness class challenges your system, teaches skills in agility and balance as well as strength tone. Modified for all levels.
Yoga - Drop-in
Yoga drop-in is now included in yearly pass holder fees. Try a yoga class led by an experienced instructor. Check the Fitness Schedule for days and times.

Indoor Tennis Court Rentals - Net Shed
Summer Rate: $16 per hour/court Monday-Sunday.
Fall-Spring Rate:$18 per hour/court Monday-Sunday.
Tennis Social
Ladies Social: $8 per person Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Friday Night Social:$16 per person 7:30 p.m. - midnight
Saturday Night Social:$16 per person 7:30 p.m. - midnight
Men's Social: $8 per person 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Tennis Court Booking Policy
- Must have a valid City of Richmond Client Number.
- Only 7 days advance booking for court rentals.
- One person’s name and client number is required to book a court. This person is responsible for the full payment of the court booking.
- Participants/clients are not allowed on the tennis courts prior to their bookings of the courts as a courtesy to other participants/clients. This includes morning court bookings.
We ask all patrons reserving courts to please be mindful of the fact that we have numerous patrons vying for a limited number or courts. If you are not able to play during the reservation time that you have booked, we kindly ask that you call us at 604-238-8080 on the morning of your reservation at the latest to cancel your court.
Only Steveston Community Centre authorized instructors are permitted to teach on indoor and outdoor tennis courts at Steveston Community Centre.
Private Tennis Lessons
