The Steveston Youth Team is excited to be bringing out new opportunities for Steveston pre-teens and Youth. We offer something for everyone, ranging from drop-in, leadership, and volunteer opportunities right here in your community. Programs
Steveston United Peers (Grades 8-12)
Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:00–6:00pm
Steveston United Peers is a program aimed at creating a fun and safe space for youth with developmental disabilities/delays to come and hang out with their peers. This program builds and fosters social and life skills while youth go on awesome trips, practice cooking skills, and have fun together.

Youth Open Gym (ages 13-18)
Saturdays 5:30–6:30pm
All youth are invited to come participate in drop-in gym here at the community centre. Come play basketball, soccer, floor hockey, any more with your friends and others in the community!
Youth - $2.35/drop-in

NightShift Drop-in Basketball (ages 13-24)
Fridays 8:30–11:30pm
Come join us Friday Nights at the Steveston Community Centre for drop-in basketball with other people from the community. Youth will only receive the youth rate with a valid Go-Card.
Youth - $2.35/drop-in
Adult - $4.85/drop-in

NightShift (Grades 8-12) - FREE
Fridays 8:00–11:30pm
NightShift Open Mic: First and Third Fridays of Each Month!
NightShift is a safe and open place to hang out with friends or meet new ones. At Night Shift, participants will be able to enjoy a game of pool, foosball, video games, food and movies. Special activities will also be planned regularly.

In addition, NightShift Open Mic will occur the first and third Friday of each month. Youth from all musical and creative backgrounds are welcome to come share their art in this free space. We encourage everyone from bands to poetry to stand-up comedy! We provide the stage all you need to bring is your instruments and talent!

Steveston Pre-teen Hangout (Ages 10-12) - FREE
Fridays 5:00–7:00pm
Come hang out after school on Fridays with the Steveston Youth Team. For grades 6 and 7 pre-teens, this hangout features sports, crafts, snacks, video games and more from 5:00 to 7:00pm.

Leadership and Volunteer Opportunities
Steveston Youth Council (Grades 8-12) - FREE
Wednesday 4:30pm – 5:30pm
The Steveston Youth Council is an opportunity for youth to gain volunteer opportunities and develop leadership skills in ways that interest them. Take an active role in the community by giving back and contributing in areas that you care about! Members meet once a week to plan events, try new activities, earn volunteer hours and gain leadership experience.

Steveston Pre-teen Leadership (Grades 6-7) - FREE
Wednesday 3:30–4:30pm
Give back to your community by joining the Steveston Pre-teen Leadership group! Develop important leadership skills and gain volunteer hours by planning and engaging in events and activities within the Steveston area. Members meet once a week to plan events, try new activities, earn volunteer hours and gain leadership experience. Open to students in grades 6 to 7.
