If you're in high school and looking for fun and exciting things to do after school and want to meet new people come join this group of youth who want to make a difference. Help plan events, go on retreats, contribute to the community, gain leadership and volunteer experience and become a part of a super awesome team! We meet every Wednesday afterschool.
Leadership and Community Involvement
S.W.A.T. (Steveston with Active Teens)
Joining S.W.A.T. offers you the opportunity to plan awesome events in Steveston, support important causes, contribute to the community and be a part of an awesome team. We meet every Wednesday at 3:30pm in the Games Room at Steveston Community Centre. Open to any youth in grades 8-12. New members are always welcome, come check it out.
C.O.P.S. (Committee of Preteens at Steveston)
This group of 10-12 year olds plan special events, volunteer in the community, learn strong leadership skills and have a lot of fun. Meetings take place every Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. in the Coho Room at the Steveston Community Centre.
Programs
Girls Night
This is a funnight out for preteen girls wiht different activities that include baking, crafts and more. Drop in every Friday, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Night Shift
Night Shift is a safe and open place to hang out with friends or meet new ones and offers a variety of activities throughout the year. At Night Shift participate in food creation, local music concerts and hang out with Steveston's Youth Crew.
Night Shift Basketball
Fridays 8:45-11:45 p.m.
Come play basketball on Friday nights. Cost is $4.75 drop-in fee or only $2.25 with a valid Go-Card.
S.U.P. (Steveston United Peers Grade 8-12)
The S.U.P. program is designed to bring together youth with developmental disabilities/delays and their peers in a safe, supervised environment. This program focuses on typical social situations, and through these interactions, provides all participating youth with a better understanding of those around them, while also improving social skills.
