National Volunteer Week
April 23 to 29, 2017, we celebrate the contributions of our volunteers as part of National Volunteer Week across Canada. We will be sharing testimonials on our Facebook page from volunteers and highlighting their significant additions to our programs and events.
If you have volunteered at Thompson, in the past year (2016 - 2017), enter our Volunteer Crossword Puzzle Contest. Pick up a copy from our volunteer display board in our lobby or print the PDF version below. Contest closes on Sunday April 29th. Submit your completed answers along with your name and phone number to be entered to our grand prize draw.

We hold two volunteer info sessions yearly in April and September.

Creating an icanhelp profile
- Create an account on our volunteer website (http://icanhelp.richmond.ca). Click on "Volunteer as an Individual" and then follow the steps provided to create your volunteer profile. Be sure to pick a username and password that you can remember easily!
- Once you have created an account, click on "Search Opportunities" on the upper right on the website. Select "By Facility", and choose "Thompson" under Community Centres.
- Sign up! Once you have found an opportunity that interests you, sign up for it through the website.
- You will be contacted promptly regarding your application. Please note that most volunteer opportunities require interviews or a Police Information Check before you are officially placed.
