Celebrated annually in June in British Columbia, Alberta, Nova Scotia and the Northwest Territories, Seniors Week recognizes and commends the contributions seniors bring to their community. Programs and events are held the first week in June throughout Richmond targeted to seniors and their families.

The annual Seniors Services Summer Garden Party invites seniors to enjoy afternoon high tea and entertainment at Minoru Plaza every August.
National Seniors Day/International Day of Older Persons
National Seniors Day is celebrated annually on October 1 to honour seniors for their many and varied contributions to their families, workplaces and communities. Events and programs raise awareness about seniors’ contributions and the important roles they play in Canadian society. Internationally, the General Assembly of the United Nations has designated October 1 as the International Day of Older Persons.
