Depot is where it all starts; following raw recruits trying to prove they have what it takes to become a Mountie. Since 1885 every RCMP officer in Canada has gone through Depot in Regina, Saskatchewan.

With sails flapping, cannons booming and feet a stomping on Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28, 2019, Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site and Imperial Landing were transformed into a two-day celebration of seafaring fun for the 16th annual Richmond Maritime Festival.

A sizzling salmon barbecue, Canada Day Parade, live performances on multiple stages, evening fireworks over the Fraser River and lots more free family fun were part of the 74th Annual Steveston Salmon Festival, throughout the historic Steveston Village on Monday, July 1, 2019. 

Richmond World Festival is Richmond's major multicultural festival. Taking place on August 30 and 31, 2018, the Richmond World Festival celebrated Richmond’s significant cultural diversity by showcasing 90+ artists on nine stages, a digital carnival, over 50 food trucks, a culinary stage, artisan marketplace and more.

 

Richmond Canada Day is a full-day street party in Steveston Village to celebrate the anniversary of confederation. Held alongside our friends at the Steveston Salmon Festival, Richmond Canada Day featured eight stages with over 50 performances, a street market, artisan village, food trucks, street hockey, and a big fireworks finale.

 

Richmond hearts glowed all-year long as the City of Richmond celebrated Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation with 60+ events. From tall ship visits to major festivals, Richmond showed its Canadian pride in ways that celebrate our nation’s history, culture, diversity and uniqueness.
