Richmond invites public to comment on proposed arterial road policy update
18 April 2016
The City of Richmond invites the public to learn about and provide comments on proposed updates for new housing options on certain arterial roads. Over the years, Richmond has supported residential densification along certain arterial roads through its existing Arterial Road Policy created in 1999. This policy has been refined over time to support our evolving community and housing needs.
From Saturday, April 23 to Wednesday, May 4, 2016 the City will host five public open houses, held throughout Richmond. The first open house, on Saturday, April 23, will be held at Thompson Community Centre, 5151 Granville Avenue. The open house schedule can be found online at www.richmond.ca/plandev/planning2/projects/arterialrd.htm, on posters at community centres, and via advertisements in the local newspaper.
Residents and interested parties are invited to attend one or more of these drop-in-style open houses to meet City planners, see display boards, learn what the proposed updates are, and complete a survey providing feedback.
The open house information boards and handouts, as well as the survey, will be online at www.LetsTalkRichmond.ca from Friday, April 22 until midnight, Sunday, May 8, 2016.
All public feedback received from the open houses and LetsTalkRichmond.ca will be compiled as part of a staff report on the proposed amendments, to be presented for Council consideration later this spring.
