Sea Island Recreational Trail
This unique area of Richmond is home to the Vancouver International Airport and also provides scenic recreational trails, cycling and driving routes along the Middle and North Arm of the Fraser River. This is a popular area for plane watching, walking along the beaches and bird watching.
Points of InterestIona Beach Regional Park
The unique and publicly-accessible 4 km jetty at this park offers walking and cycling options that extend into the Strait of Georgia. This is also an excellent birding area with long sandy beaches. Picnic tables, washrooms and parking are available.
McDonald Beach Park
This hidden park offers a boat launch, informal trails along the river and views of the river's working boats and activities. Picnic tables, barbeques, washrooms and parking are available.
Note: A section of this area is also designated "Dogs Off-Leash". Note the signed bylaw regulations regarding leashing/unleashing of dogs. See Dogs Off-Leash Areas for more information.
Larry Berg Flight Path Park
This popular plane watching location includes site art reflecting airport activities and was recently redeveloped by the Vancouver International Airport [YVR], incorporating interesting flight and travel elements that encourage people of all ages to interact and play.
