Preschool and Out of School Care
Preschools at Richmond community facilities are designed to develop the whole child intellectually, socially, physically, emotionally and cognitively. A positive and encouraging learning environment is provided where children of various cultures and backgrounds share and learn about each other.
The preschool term is September 2018 to June 2019 with winter and spring break vacation.
Fees are due at the time of registration and may be paid by cash, debit, Visa, MasterCard, American Express or cheque. A non-refundable $40 registration fee will be applied when registering. Monthly post-dated payments for the remainder of the school year must be given at time of registration.
For all licensed preschools, children must turn the required age by December 31, 2018; or be at least 30 months of age at time of registration. (Please note, children ages 30-36 months may be able to register but parents will need to meet with the Preschool Coordinator prior to registering).
Registration must be done in person only.
Registration for the 2018-2019 school year is ongoing (children must turn the required age by December 31, 2018).
Public registration for the 2019-2020 school year starts at 6:00pm on April 4, 2019 (in person only) Children must turn three by December 31, 2019.

Preschool Kinderfun - Licensed
Children participate in activities that promote socialization through language, songs and art. Parent participation is required.

Preschool Little Explorers - Licensed
Children are introduced to concepts and social skills through various activities set up in the classroom and outdoors. The focus of Little Explorer is on sensory learning with a large outdoor component. Some Parent participation is required.

Little Explorers/Kinderfun – Kindergarten Prep
For children going to Kindergarten in September 2019, this preschool extension helps prepare children for a longer school day. Children bring lunches and pre-Kindergarten work is done after lunch. Out of School Care
Cambie offers quality licensed school care to children ages 5 to 12 years. The Out of School Care program is staffed by energetic, creative instructors who support children in a fun and nurturing environment.
All programs adhere to government regulations and work closely with Richmond Health Services.
Cambie Out of School Care provides morning and after school care for students from McNeely and Mitchell Elementary Schools, and after school care for Tait, Talmey and Tomsett elementary schools.
The program includes an afternoon snack, professional and early dismissal days, winter and spring break and transportation to and from school.
