Traffic Safety Around Schools
Travel Survey Results
In November 2004, the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee distributed a survey to parents or guardians at all Richmond elementary schools to determine baseline travel patterns of students to and from school and identify reasons why parents or guardians choose to drive students to or from school.

A profile sheet for each school has been created from the data that summarizes:
- school enrolment, number of cross-boundary students and number of responses received;
- distance of residence from school and mode of transportation used to travel to and from school;
- reasons why parents or guardians choose to drive students to school; and
- perceived greatest dangers facing a child in the vicinity of the school.
