Energy & GHG Emissions Reporting

The City of Richmond, a long-time advocate for benchmarking large existing buildings, is considering a new requirement for reporting energy use and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for these buildings.

Energy and GHG emissions reporting and benchmarking are crucial for assessing and enhancing the performance of Richmond's existing buildings. This process involves measuring and analyzing annual energy consumption both for individual buildings and across entire portfolios. The proposed reporting requirements would initially apply to retail, office, light industrial, and industrial buildings larger than 100,000 square feet.
