Water Conservation

The City of Richmond’s water conservation programs assist residents in conserving water, which saves money for taxpayers and the City and ensures there is adequate water supply to meet demand when needed. Additional benefits include:

  • The need for costly upgrades or new infrastructure to deliver and treat water can be delayed or eliminated.
  • Less wastewater goes to treatment facilities, and less potable water and wastewater need to be pumped, saving energy and money.
  • Reducing water use helps preserve and protect fish and wildlife habitat.
