Community Outreach

Public education and community outreach is integral to achieving the City's new waste reduction goals. Making information and educational resources accessible is key to effectively fostering behavioural change.

Richmond residents are encouraged to practice the three R's - reduce, reuse and recycle when and wherever possible. The City offers free workshops, sponsors outreach initiatives to elementary and high school students and making activity kits available for groups to use. You'll find more information on workshops and schedules, partnership programs and activity kits information using the links below.

Let's Trim Our Waste. Being successful in recycling and waste management is a community effort. Residents and businesses are encouraged to take responsibility for their waste and use the programs and services available in the community. The City of Richmond supports our community by offering a range of programs, including blue cart & blue box recycling, green cart recycling, Recycling Depot drop off and public spaces recycling. Together, these City programs and partner services like industry take back programs make it easy and convenient to achieve our community goals. Together, we can make change happen.
