Emergencies are a fact of life and can happen without warning. The following sections will provide you, your family, your school or your business with key information.
How to Prepare
Residents and businesses must be prepared to be self sufficient for at least 72-hours or more following a major emergency, such as an earthquake or flood. Resources to help you develop an emergency plan, pull together emergency supplies, and increase your awareness of what to do in the event of an emergency can be found on the Emergency Preparedness website.
How the City is Preparing
The City of Richmond's Emergency Programs Branch works in partnership with local first response agencies and City departments to develop and implement plans and programs to protect the community during disasters.
How You Can Get Involved
Connected communities are more resilient and can recovery more quickly from emergencies. Host a preparedness workshop, connect with your neighbours, or volunteer as a way to get involved.
