Artist Statement
"Victory Gardens for Diversity: recipes for community-based ecological engagement" was an artist residency project at Terra Nova Park. The team included lead artist, Lori Weidenhammer, Lois Klassen, Crystal Lee, Jenn Pearson, Catherine Shapiro and Lori Snyder. This year-long artist project was inspired by the historical WWII Victory Gardens movement and popular slogans such as 'grow yourown, can your won', 'grow vitamins at your kitchen door', 'make-do and mend', and 'useit up, wear it out, make it do'.
