Room Rentals
Located in the Minoru Precinct, near the corner of Granville Avenue and Minoru Boulevard, the Richmond Cultural Centre and Richmond Cultural Centre Annex are a hub for arts, culture and heritage activities.

General Information
- Room rental requests must be made a minimum of four weeks in advance. Requests that include additional technical and audio visual needs should be made a minimum of six weeks in advance.
- Space is not guaranteed or considered booked until full payment including the damage deposit is received.
- A $300 damage deposit fee is required for all rentals.
- Insurance is required for all rentals.
- Rooms are available for rent during the following hours, with the exception of statutory holidays:
- Mon-Fri: 9:00am-8:30pm
- Sat & Sun: 10:00am-4:30pm
- Sat evenings can be considered at an additional cost, subject to approval and on an individually negotiated basis.
Performance Hall Rentals
Community events are an important part of making Richmond an appealing, liveable and vibrant community.
The Richmond Cultural Centre Performance Hall (also knowns as "theatre under the stairs") is available for arts, culture and heritage-related uses only including, but not limited to, private functions, workshops, craft sales, performances, recitals, concerts and exhibitions.
The Performance Hall is similar to a black box theatre and features specialized lighting, soundproofed walls, tiered seating, a large open floor space and audio-visual (A/V) equipment. There is a small gathering space available, but no dressing rooms, front-of-house or backstage area.

Arts Studios Rentals
Studios in the Cultural Centre and Cultural Centre Annex are available for rehearsals, personal artistic practices or open studio time for community arts groups. These spaces are reserved solely for arts uses. These studios are also used for Richmond Arts Centre programs and, therefore, have limited availability.
The rates below are designed with non-profit or community groups in mind. For commercial purposes please be aware that rates will differ.
Art Studio
Location: Richmond Cultural Centre, upstairs
Capacity: 22
Cost: $28 per hour
The Art Studio contains 6 tables with chairs, low-height for children’s use. There are two sinks and whiteboards on the wall.
This space is for visual arts. Rental applications for digital arts, literary arts or fabric arts will also be considered. Suggested activities include workshops, personal artistic practice or open studio time for community arts groups.
Creativity Lab
Location: Richmond Cultural Centre Annex
Capacity: 49
Cost: $28 per hour
The Creativity Lab has 8 tables and 24 chairs. Windows provide natural light and blinds give the option of privacy. There is one sink and a whiteboard on the wall. The studio contains a smart TV, but please be aware renters must bring their own cords, adapters and audio-visual devices as needed.
This space is for visual arts. Rental applications for digital arts, literary arts or fabric arts will also be considered. Suggested activities include workshops, personal artistic practice or open studio time for community arts groups.
Note: This studio can also be booked for non-arts meetings and workshops.
Dance Studio
Location: Richmond Cultural Centre, upstairs
Capacity: 80
Cost: $53 per hour
The Dance Studio has sprung floors, two walls of mounted dance barres and two mirrored walls, with black curtains providing optional coverage. The studio contains a piano, moveable dance barres and twelve chairs. There is an available sound system with Bluetooth or aux capabilities, but please be aware renters must bring their own cords, adapters and audio devices as needed. Clothing racks are available upon request.
This space is for dance or performing arts. Suggested activities include solo or group practice, filming audition tapes, developing choreography or rehearsals.
Fabric Arts Studio
Location: Richmond Cultural Centre, upstairs
Capacity: 22
Cost: $28 per hour
The Fabric Arts studio contains 10 tables and 20 chairs. Large, east-facing windows provide natural light and blinds give the option of privacy. There is one sink, a whiteboard on the wall and a rolling whiteboard. Clothing racks and a rolling mirror are available upon request.
This space is for fabric arts and there are looms stored in this room, placed to the side. Rental applications for digital arts, literary arts or visual arts will also be considered. Suggested activities include workshops, personal artistic practice or open studio time for community arts groups.
Lapidary Studio*
Location: Richmond Cultural Centre, upstairs
Capacity: 20
Cost: $28 per hour
*Lapidary machines are locked during rentals.
The Lapidary Studio contains 6 tables, 12 chairs and one sink.
This space is for visual arts. Rental applications for digital arts, literary arts or fabric arts will also be considered. Suggested activities include workshops, personal artistic practice or open studio time for community arts groups.
Music Studio 1
Location: Richmond Cultural Centre, upstairs
Capacity: 4
Cost: $20 per hour
Music Studio 1 contains a grand piano, a keyboard and an electronic drum set. Renters may make use of the available instruments or provide their own.
This studio is for music. This a practice space only.
Music Studio 2
Location: Richmond Cultural Centre, upstairs

Cost: $15 per hour
Music Studio 2 contains a piano, a keyboard and an acoustic guitar. Renters may make use of the available instruments or provide their own.

Painting Studio
Location: Richmond Cultural Centre, upstairs

Cost: $28 per hour
The Painting Studio has 8 tables and 24 chairs. There is a whiteboard on the wall and two sinks, one regular height and one children’s height. Windows provide natural light and blinds give the option of privacy. The studio also contains a screen for projection, but please be aware renters must bring their own portable projector, cords, adapters and audio-visual devices as needed.
