A limited number of spring daycamps are being offered in March at various community centres. All camps are led by fully trained leaders with strict guidelines followed to ensure the safety of both participants and staff.

BC’s Marvellous Mushrooms – Travelling ExhibitionThe Richmond Nature Park Society is excited to host BC’s Marvellous Mushrooms, a travelling exhibit from the Royal BC Museum until April 5. Explore the science, uses, and diversity of mushrooms, featuring some of BC’s 3,400 species, familiar, bizarre, delicious, and deadly, and discover how they shape our ecosystems.

FREE! Get outside and play at the Terra Nova Adventure Play Environment
This unique play experience captures the imagination of kids and adults. Organized into two distinct zones, the ‘Paddock’, which was once home to horses and stables, includes tandem 35m long ziplines (8+ years); 3m high ‘big’ swings (8+ years); a ‘pivot’ swing (5+ years); and a twisting stainless steel hillside slide! (5+ years).
The ‘Homestead’, the site of a former farm house, includes a custom designed 10m tall ‘Tree House’ with four platforms, a central rope ladder and a stainless steel spiral slide (8+ years); the Log Jam: A climbable timber structure (5+ years); an ‘aerial’ rope walkway (5+ years); and the ‘Spinnery’ (5+ year).

FREE! Go on the Minoru Park and City Hall Public Art Scavenger Hunt
This fun, family-friendly outdoor activity will take participants from Richmond City Hall to Minoru Park in search of 10 public artworks. Answer the clues on the activity sheet and learn more about public art in the city. Once completed, participants can contact publicart@richmond.ca for the answers to the clues.

FREE! Adventure Labs | Terra Nova Park, Richmond Nature House, Garden City Park & Paulik Park
This interactive, app-based experience is a virtual scavenger hunt for the whole family! Players download the interactive app onto a smartphone (QR code at Nature House front desk) and are guided by GPS to various locations. At each stop, players answer questions and learn facts about wildlife and ecology at the park. Enjoy the adventure when the Nature House is open daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Watch a short tutorial to learn how to use the interactive app. All ages.

Explore the Richmond Art Gallery’s current exhibition that explodes with colour. FREE! Waterfront exploration at the Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site
Explore our waterfront history with a visit to the Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site on weekends during Spring Break. Visit the heritage park and discover how people from around the world lived and worked in Steveston to help build the fishing, canning and boat building industries. Enjoy activities for all ages and explore both indoor and outdoor spaces in this 8-acre heritage site.

FREE! Discover what’s new at the Steveston Tram
Visit the Steveston Tram from March 14 to 29 and explore the exhibits and interactive displays about Richmond’s rich transportation history. “Track” down our Hamm on the Tram stuffy who has hitched a ride on Tram Car 1220. Hamm will be moving around during Spring Break so follow the clues to find his new hiding spot. Suitable for families with children up to 12 years (suggestion only).
Kids – Ask for a Junior Conductor ticket, and bring the ticket back with you each time you visit the Tram to earn points towards badges.
