2nd Annual Tree Sale
City residents are invited to purchase a maximum of two trees through the MyRichmond online portal from Monday, August 28 through Friday, September 22, 2023.
The trees, which are nursery-grown quality stock, will be sold in 5-gallon sized pots and will range in size from 3 to 6 feet tall. The following trees will be available for purchase:
100 shore pine
200 paper birch
100 Garry oak
150 Oregon ash
50 Sitka willow
123 assorted apples
77 assorted cherries
When selecting a tree from the registration page, you will be directed to select a 90-minute time slot to pick up your tree at the City of Richmond Works Yard (5599 Lynas Lane). In order to administer tree sales safely and effectively, choose from one of three time slots for pick up.
Note: Availability of time slots is based on a first come, first served basis. If you're interested in purchasing two trees of the same species, register for two separate time slots. You can then pick up both trees during either of the chosen time slots, as a convenience.
For photos and more detailed information on the trees available for purchase, review the 2023 Tree Species pamphlet.

Picking Up Your Tree
Trees will be available for pick up at the City of Richmond Works Yard (5599 Lynas Lane) on Saturday, September 23. In order to receive a tree, you must provide a copy of your registration confirmation or receipt (digital or printed copy) as well as a piece of identification with the same name you registered under and your Richmond address.
It's important that your vehicle is prepared to transport the tree. Trees range in size from 3 to 6 feet tall and are in 5-gallon pots, which can be accommodated in most regular vehicles. In order to prevent soil from spilling in your vehicle, it is recommended that you bring a towel or tarp to contain the tree.
City staff will be on-site distributing the trees and will provide a tree-planting brochure specifically for the species purchased, advice about planting your tree, where to find additional supplies at local garden centres and respond to any tree-planting related questions. The event will proceed rain or shine.
