East Richmond / Queen's Canal Recreational Trail


River RoadRiver Road between No. 6 Road and the Hamilton area is an uninterrupted stretch of road along the North Arm of the Fraser River with views of boating and log storage activities. To the south - accessed by Dyke Road - is a lively environment of float homes, marinas, boat building industries and riparian landscapes. A few off-road recreational trails have been developed including the interior Queen's Canal Recreational Trail.

Queen's Canal Recreational Trail

This interior recreational trail follows Queen's Canal from the south end of Smith Drive in East Richmond, north to River Road crossing Westminster Highway. The trail connects pedestrians and cyclists to the northern section of the East Richmond Recreational Trail and the North Arm of the Fraser River. At the north end of the trail are great views towards Burnaby and the mountains and New Westminster to the east.

Note: Exercise caution as this trail crosses Westminster Highway and River Road, both high traffic roadways.

Riverport Entertainment Complex

This popular destination for entertainment and City-operated recreational facilities includes Watermania Aquatic Complex and Richmond Ice Centre. Future trails are being developed east of this site.

Graybar Marina and Fraserwood Recreation Trail

Find a marina, float homes, boat building companies, river industries, islands, woodlots and a quiet tree-lined dyke path between Graybar Road and Fraserwood Way along the South Arm of the Fraser River. While on the North Arm section of this route, enjoy open views of the river and the adjacent municipalities, tugboats, log booms and world famous cranberry fields. Visit this area in mid-October to view the spectacular sight of flooded, crimson cranberry fields during the harvesting period.

Note: Exercise caution as there are limited sidewalks in this area.

Toyota Park

This 1.58 acres park in the Hamilton area is located just off Highway 91 / East-West Connector in the Fraserwood Place commercial district. The features in this park include a half basketball court for lunch time 3-on-3 and plenty of picnic tables and benches for lunch breaks.

Hamilton Dogs Off-Leash Park

This park is an initiative by the City of Richmond, in consultation with the community, to provide an area where responsible owners can exercise dogs on or off-leash.
