Finding Affordable Housing
Richmond has different types of affordable housing for people with low or middle incomes, including individuals, families, people with disabilities, and seniors.
There are three main types of affordable housing available in Richmond:
- Non-market/subsidized housing - These homes have the lowest rents to help people with low incomes. They are run by groups like BC Housing and Metro Vancouver, or by non-profit housing providers.
- Low-End Market Rental (LEMR) Housing - Homes for people with low to moderate incomes. These rentals are managed by non-profit housing providers or private landlords.
- Housing co-operatives (co-ops) - In these homes, the people who live there help make decisions and run things together. Co-ops usually offer stable and lower-cost housing.
