Criteria for Posting Events
The Calendar of Events is intended for use by community event organizers including non-profit groups and agencies, our partner community associations, visual and performing artists, and artisans and others whose events make a positive contribution to our community.
All announcements are subject to the approval of the designated Website Calendar Administrators. The City of Richmond reserves the right to refuse any submission at the administrators’ discretion.
The City's objectives in offering the Calendar of Events service on the City of Richmond Website is to support the activities of groups that contribute to the vibrancy and enjoyment of our community and who contribute in a positive way to the following:
- recreational, cultural and social opportunities
- preservation and development of our arts, culture and heritage
- community wellness
- public safety
- tolerance and intercultural harmony
- community liveability
- quality of life for all who live, work, or visit in our community

The City will not knowingly approve the use of the Calendar of Events to support the activities of any groups or agencies who it deems, in its absolute discretion, may intentionally, or unintentionally, serve to undermine any of the above.
The Calendar of Events is provided as a public service. The content of Calendar of Events posting is the responsibility of the submitter. The City of Richmond accepts no responsibility for the information contained in any message approved for posting on this bulletin board, or any damages caused by the posting of incorrect or inappropriate information.
We reserve the right to edit messages for grammar and clarity, and the right to refuse any message in our absolute discretion.
