Adventure Labs | Terra Nova Park, Richmond Nature House, Garden City Park & Paulik Park

Check out the 3 Adventure Labs in Richmond!

This interactive, app-based experience is a virtual scavenger hunt for the whole family! Players download the interactive app onto a smartphone (QR code at Nature House front desk) and are guided by GPS to various locations. At each stop, players answer questions and learn facts about wildlife and ecology at the park. Enjoy the adventure when the Nature House is open daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Dear Plastic - Drop-In

This five featured artist of this exhibition creatively and critically engage with a wide range of plastics and related materials thorugh the media of scultprure and weaving. They clearly delight in the potential of plastic as artistic material, which they reused, repurposed or reimagined to fashion visually arresting works.

Persimmon Blackbridge: Speak No (emergency) - Drop-In
Co-presented by Tangled Disability

In this stunning installation artist Persimmon Blackbridge urgently responds to the devastation of and despair around climate change. Covering the gallery walls with dozens of hand fashioned figures, she creates a desolate, desperate army who have come together in the face of rampant forest fires, polluted oceans, and climate denial.

Art Gallery Exhibition Spaces - Drop-In
Drop-in throughout the day to view the current exhibitions and create a small collaged artwork in response to the art you see. Your artworks can be taken home, or hung up on the community gallery walls in the Hope Smith Art Lounge. No registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Children's Arts Festival - Creativity Classes: Mini Loom Weaving
Inspired by some of the artworks in the group exhibition Dear Plastic, learn all about weaving using a small-scale loom with found, recycled, and everyday materials. Have fun learning a new technique to create a small wall hanging or decorative artwork. Adult participation required.

Join the Richmond Museum and Richmond Environmental Programs for a heartwarming and interactive experience at the Teddy Bear Repair Cafe. Schedule an appointment with our team of friendly “doctors” who are specialists in stitching up rips and tears, reattaching limbs, and re-stuffing toys that need some extra plumping. Your treasured stuffed toy will be in good hands with us! Be sure to sign up as space is limited! While waiting, families can participate in an exciting Treasure Hunt to explore the Richmond Museum’s new exhibit, Family Treasures. Discover the many ways our treasures and heirlooms reveal our unique histories while also showing surprising connections. Richmond is encouraging residents, of all ages, to “Rethink Waste” to help reduce waste and support a circular economy, including extending the life of well-loved stuffed toys by maintaining and repairing them rather than buying new. Family Day at Minoru Centre for Active Living - Minoru Inclusive Swim - Drop-In

Free fall from the drop slide, splash in the spray features, race down the double slide, float through the lazy river. Little ones can play in the tot-friendly leisure pool play area and there's the option to work out in the 8,500 square foot fitness centre with state of the art equipment, swim laps or water jog in one of the two 25m lap pools. Don't miss a visit to the adult or family hot tub, steam room and two saunas.
