Richmond Christian Elementary School and Richmond Christian Secondary School

This private school had its roots in the religious beliefs of a group of Dutch immigrant farmers who settled in Richmond during the 1950s. With a core of 37 students and a rented United Church Hall at Cambie and River Roads, they taught the British Columbia curriculum interlaced with Christian theology.

From 1957 to 1975, the school expanded to include all grade levels. In 1975, Seacliff Christian Secondary School was built on No. 5 Road in a rented accommodation provided by the Richmond Bethel Church.

A new facility for elementary-aged children was built on Woodward’s Road in 1981, and both schools finally merged into one in the fall of 1992. The name ‘Seacliff’ was dropped.
