The second of a series of five monthly pop ups aimed at connecting residents with lower incomes to community-based services is scheduled for Thursday, January 12 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Brighouse Library. 

The free drop-in sessions offer a safe and welcoming space for members of the community to ask questions about available resources, in a comfortable, accessible location – the library.

The first pop up session in December was a huge success. Several community members popped by and connected with over ten different organizations with thoughtful discussions.

Pop ups are taking place on the second Thursday of each month from December 2022 to April 2023. Some of the services and supports available include navigational support for addiction services and affordable housing as well as application support for government assistance.   
 
The City of Richmond and Richmond Public Library host the series in collaboration with a number of community organizations. The Province of British Columbia, through the Union of British Columbia Municipalities, provided funding for the program.

The pop ups support the City’s 2021–2031 Collaborative Action Plan to Reduce and Prevent Poverty in Richmond, and the development of outreach programs for residents at risk of, or living in, poverty.
