Last year, youth across the Metro Vancouver region faced record-high unemployment rates, creating more barriers to beginning and exploring their careers. Recognizing this growing need, the City of Richmond and the Richmond Public Library alongside Richmond’s Employment Resource Network, welcomes youth (aged 15 to 24 years) to Employment Connections: Programs and Supports for Youth Jobseekers.
On Wednesday, March 4, 2026 from 2:30 to 5:00pm, Richmond youth are invited to explore a variety of community-based employment programs and supports through Employment Connections at Brighouse Library, 7700 Minoru Gate. This free, drop-in event will feature community and government organizations offering help with job searching, gaining work or volunteer experience, mental health support, financial literacy resources and training programs. The event will also include hands-on sessions such as mock interviews and live resume reviews.
Since 2024, Employment Connections has supported Richmond jobseekers who face barriers to employment with access to career and job search support. Employment Connections is a joint initiative of the Employment Resource Network, bringing together Richmond-based community organizations, the City of Richmond and Richmond Public Library to reduce and prevent poverty in Richmond.
