Susan A. Point

Biography

Susan A. Point is a Coast Salish artist who was born in 1952 in Alert Bay, British Columbia. She lives on the Musqueam First Nation reserve in Vancouver. She is a self-taught artist who learned about Coast Salish art and culture from her uncle, Professor Michael Kew, and her aunt, Dorothy Kew, and from Dominic Point and Edna Grant Point. She began her art career in 1981 and now creates three-dimensional art in many different mediums. Susan is a recipient of the Order of Canada.
