Biography
Born in London, England, Canadian artist Michael Tickner is internationally known for his unique style of painting, sometimes called contemporary primitive. His work is part of collections in over 15 countries. Best known for his images depicting the beautiful Est Coast of British Columbia. The bold, brightly coloured images immediately evoke positive feelings, showing us a world of harmony depicted with colours of high energy and strong design.
A professional artist for over 35 years, his use of composition, colour and form, grace the walls of many serious private and corporate collectors around the world. Among other accomplishments his was the only artist work used in the successful bid for the 2010 Canadian Winder Olympics Games. Now in his sixties Michael is in his artistic prime, with his originals becoming increasingly sought after and commission requests booked well in advance.
Art is such an emotional as well as a financial investment, Michael's works not only appreciates noticeably but also is a joy to live with. His studio produced Limited Edition Archival quality print works more popular as his sold out edition continue to increase in value.
To mark the 20th Anniversary of the 'Tickner' style of painting, a special Limited Edition print of Vancouver is being produced in his studio.
Having continued to work with many children's charities over the years with his art, Michael is still enjoying making school visits, talking to young students about art, being an artist, and finding their own passion in life.
