Biography:
John Robert Simpson was born March 24, 1897 in Calgary, Alberta. Son of Thomas and Margaret Simpson of Steveston. On his Attestation Paper, John Robert Simpson listed his trade as a machinist, single, with a height of 5 foot and 11 inches, fair complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair and with a scar on his right cheek from a right sided goitre. He listed his religion as Presbyterian. He was a member of the 18th Field Ambulance Unit, Canadian Army Medical Corps and joined the Canadian Expeditionary Force on May 5, 1916.

Private John Robert Simpson died December 26, 1920 and is buried in Vancouver's Mountain View Cemetery
