Councillor Kenny Chiu

Kenny Chiu brings a problem-solver’s mindset to public service. Educated in Saskatchewan and a software engineer by profession with over a decade and a half of senior management experience, he served the community as a board member with Mennonite Housing Society, gaining valuable insight into housing needs and challenges facing families. He has served Richmond as its School Trustee and M.P. for Steveston—Richmond East.

Kenny combines technology expertise with years of community service.

Kenny campaigned to bring practical, innovative and results-driven solutions to City Hall. He offers a 12 practical solutions for a safer, healthier, more prosperous Richmond and responsive municipal government.

Kenny believes technologies should make everyday life better. He proposes using AI to improve traffic circulation and ameliorate city communication for residents; while exploring innovative partnerships and new approaches to enhance Richmond’s housing supplies.

For Kenny, good government means identifying problems, embracing innovation and delivering practical solutions that work.
