The City of Richmond is updating its Social Development Strategy and is seeking input from those who live and work in Richmond on how we can build a more inclusive and thriving community. The updated Strategy will provide an overarching framework for the City and its partners to address the social needs of Richmond’s diverse population over the next 10 years. 

The public will have the following ways to provide feedback and to help shape the development of a draft strategy from Monday, June 5 to Sunday, July 2, 2023: 

• Online – Visit www.LetsTalkRichmond.ca/Social-Dev-Strategy to learn more and complete a survey. The deadline to submit an online survey is Sunday, July 2 at 11:59 p.m.
  
  
• In-person – Connect with Community Ambassadors who will be at various pop-up locations throughout Richmond:
  • Wednesday, June 7 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Minoru Centre for Active Living, 7191 Granville Avenue
  • Saturday, June 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at King George Park, 4100 No. 5 Road
  • Saturday, June 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Steveston Community Park, 4011 Moncton Street
  • Tuesday, June 27 from 12 to 4 p.m. at Richmond Cultural Centre Plaza, 7700 Minoru Gate

• Printed copies of the survey, available in English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, will be available at the pop-ups as well as the following community facilities: 
  • Cambie Community Centre, 12800 Cambie Road
  • City Centre Community Centre, 5900 Minoru Boulevard 
  • Seniors Centre at Minoru Centre for Active Living, 7191 Granville Avenue
  • Richmond Cultural Centre, 7700 Minoru Gate
  • Steveston Community Centre, 4111 Moncton Street

Completed surveys can be returned to these community facilities. 

The updated Social Development Strategy will build on the progress made on the 2013–2022 Strategy, which provided a roadmap for the City, community partners, residents and other stakeholders to improve the social well-being of the community. Feedback collected from the engagement process will be used to help develop a draft Social Development Strategy for the next 10 years, which will be presented to City Council in 2024.
