The City of Richmond is inviting public input to help shape a new, forward-looking Economic Development Strategy. This feedback will guide the City’s long-term economic direction, support business growth and retention, and strengthen community resilience.
Community members and businesses can share their insights through online and in-person opportunities available now through Sunday, November 30, 2025.
“The new Economic Development Strategy represents a vital step in positioning Richmond for long-term prosperity during changing global dynamics,” said Mayor Malcolm Brodie. “We are engaging businesses, workers, and residents to ensure this strategy reflects diverse perspectives while supporting a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable economy for our community.”
The strategy will address both current and future needs to keep Richmond competitive and resilient. It will be guided by a shared focus on economic growth, environmental sustainability, and social well-being.
There are multiple ways for the public, local businesses, workers, community groups, and anchor institutions to share their input:
