Applications for the City of Richmond’s annual City Grants Program will open Wednesday, September 16, with submissions accepted until 5:00pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
The City Grants Program provides funding to organizations delivering initiatives that enrich community life, strengthen connections and enhance the well-being of Richmond residents.
Grants are available in five categories:
- Arts and Culture
- Child Care
- Health, Social and Safety
- Parks, Recreation and Community Events
- Environmental Enhancement and Food Security
The 2027 City Grants Program includes updates to eligibility, funding limits and grant streams. There is also a new online application system designed to provide a more user-friendly interface, enhance the overall applicant experience and make applying more efficient and accessible.
To support applicants, the City is offering both general and grant-specific information sessions in online and in-person formats.
The general grant information session will focus on the overall City Grants Program, providing participants with an opportunity to ask questions about the updated policy and to view a live demonstration of the online application system. All applicants are strongly encouraged to register and attend this session.
Grant-specific information sessions will focus on the requirements of individual grant programs, including program objectives, eligibility criteria and key considerations to help applicants prepare strong submissions. Applicants are also strongly encouraged to register and attend the online session that corresponds to their specific program of interest.
