The City of Richmond is a signatory to the Richmond Community Protocol: Responding to Racism and Hate, and remains committed to the values it represents, ensuring that incidents of discrimination are addressed promptly and effectively when they occur, reflecting the values of our community.

Recently, discriminatory messaging was shared on social media, drawing public attention and media coverage. This does not reflect the values of our Council or community.

The City is seeking an apology on behalf of all Richmond residents from those responsible for this messaging. Richmond is committed to being a city where inclusion, respect, and diversity are not just values we state, but values we actively defend.
