The City of Richmond is seeking feedback on the potential for future lighting along the Railway Greenway. Residents are invited to provide input by attending one of two drop-in style open houses and sharing their feedback online.

The public open houses will include information boards, surveys and light refreshments. Parks Services staff will be available to answer questions and discuss potential lighting strategies on:

  • Wednesday, June 5 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Branscombe House, 4900 Steveston Highway
  • Saturday, June 22 from 9:00 to 11:00am at Branscombe House, 4900 Steveston Highway

In addition to the open houses, residents are encouraged to complete an online survey by visiting LetsTalkRichmond.ca/RailwayLighting. The survey period is open now until Sunday, June 30, 2024.

Lighting is being contemplated along the Railway Greenway to enhance accessibility and public safety. Potential impacts to adjacent residents and the greenway ecosystem, along with necessary measures to reduce these impacts, will be carefully considered. Following the conclusion of the public engagement period, staff will analyze the feedback received and report to Council with recommended next steps.
