"On behalf of Council and the City of Richmond, we extend our sincere condolences and deepest sympathies on the passing of former Premier John Horgan.

The former Premier was a popular leader with a passion for building a better British Columbia. He had a very keen sense in recognizing the wishes and needs of the community.

Premier Horgan treated people with compassion and respect, while he demonstrated the leadership necessary to guide British Columbians through the challenges of COVID-19 and other crises.

The people of Richmond were saddened to hear of his passing. Our thoughts, and those of all Richmond residents, are with his family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.

The City will lower the flags at City Hall in honour of John Horgan at the time of his memorial service.”
