The fourth year of World Leisure Day is being celebrated in Richmond on Tuesday, April 16 with free and low-cost activities for all ages. This year’s theme, “Embracing Digital Horizons in Leisure,” explores and embraces the intersection of leisure and emerging technologies, illustrating how digital advancements can complement and transform traditional leisure activities.
Take a fitness class that uses interactive SMART technology and digital projections such as CycleFit, Ride and Athletic; learn about audio recording, podcasting, 3D printing, graphic design and more through the Richmond Youth Media Program; go on an outdoor Geocaching Adventure; and sign up for a Tech Buddies Device Clinic. All activities are offered by the City of Richmond and its partners.

About World Leisure Day
World Leisure Day, a global initiative of the World Leisure Organization (WLO), aims to highlight the importance of leisure, in all its forms: play, recreation, arts and culture, sport, festival and celebrations, health and fitness, education, travel and tourism.
In 2017, the WLO (worldleisureday.org) designated Richmond as a World Leisure Community of Excellence, recognizing the city for its rich arts and cultural communities, outdoor green spaces, unique heritage and waterfront roots, as well as its breadth of recreation and sport opportunities.
