Reminder: Richmond property taxes due July 2

The City of Richmond reminds property owners that property taxes are due on Wednesday, July 2. Tax notices were mailed out on Thursday, May 15. Due to possible postal delays or service interruptions, residents who have still not received their notice are advised to:

  • Contact the City Tax Department immediately at 604-276-4145
  • Visit City Hall in person with Photo ID to request a copy
  • Access their account online at richmond.ca/MyRichmond

Payments can be made: 

  • Online or in person through financial institutions 
  • Online by credit card (service fees apply) through the MyRichmond portal
  • By cheque in the City Hall drop box (Do not deposit cash)
  • In-person at City Hall during business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:15am to 5:00pm). City Hall is closed on Canada Day, July 1. Please note: cash is NOT accepted. Accepted payment methods are cheque, debit and credit card (service fees apply).
  • Mailing a cheque is NOT recommended this year due to potential postal delays.
    (If you still decide to use Canada Post, do not send cash in the mail. Postmarks will not be accepted as the payment date.)

The Government of BC is responsible for all home owner grants claimed in the province. Residents can apply for the grant online and find more information at gov.bc.ca/HomeOwnerGrant.

All property owners are responsible for property tax payments and applicable penalties, regardless of whether or not a tax notice is received.

Residents who did not receive their Q1 metered utility bill can either visit City Hall with photo ID to request a copy or sign up for MyRichmond to view their bill online.
